SOLAR POWER MOUNTING HARDWARE |
|
Most mounting systems now have evolved to using simple non-corrosive extruded aluminum rails with all stainless steel hardware. They go together fast, securely, and unobtrusively. A great variety of flush, tilt-up, low-profile, high-profile, ground, roof, wall, RV, and pole-top mounts are available that can be configured to meet almost any need on almost any surface.
We carry an impressive stock of the most used Uni-Rac, Pro-Solar, and Direct Power & Water products, with other options and product lines readily available. If you don't see what you need, or need help figuring out what you need, please give us a call or drop an email.
To Track, or Not To Track?
If you can make your PV modules face directly at the sun and follow it across the sky, both logic, and real-world experience say you'll harvest more energy. In summer, particularly in latitudes closer to the equator, when the sun is making a big high arc overhead, you can gain 30% to 35% more energy. Often, this is the only way to boost solar pump output, and it happens at the time of year when more water is usually most appreciated.
However, we are not generally fans of tracking mounts beyond the occasional water pump. With moving parts, there will inevitably be maintenance, particularly with the electrically-driven models. Experience has shown that you can practically depend on having to repair something every year. The heat-driven models are more dependable, but they can get blown off course by winds over 10 mph, and the wake up-roll over-face east move happens very slowly in cold weather. Finally, all tracking mounts have a cost problem. In the past ten years, PV modules have halved in cost, tracking
mounts have not. They just don't make good economic sense anymore. You want more power and no maintenance? Just buy an extra module or two, put them on fixed mounts, and you'll never need to mess with them again. |

Sharp's Solar Panel PV Racking System (SRS)
Improved aesthetics, streamlined installation
This innovative new solution for residential and light commercial installations uses a shared rail system that requires 30% less rail than conventional systems. That means fewer rail lines to draw and less mounting hardware to install. The racking system is compatible with virtually all types of roofs including asphalt shingles, curved Spanish tiles, concrete tiles and slate, for retrofit or new construction. And Sharp backs every solar module with a 25-year limited warranty, and the racking system with a 10-year limited warranty.
Adjustable slider assemblies
These adjustable slider assemblies speed up installations with their generous vertical and horizontal tolerances. Simply mount, adjust, and move on. The sliders are also equipped with butyl sealant pads that instantly create a waterproof seal at all roof penetrations.
Better aesthetics
One of the most innovative aspects of the OnEnergy system is the talon clip. They grip each module securely in place while integrating so smoothly that no parts of the mounting structure are visible on the roof.
Mounting hardware
The mounting hardware is made of steel because it’s structurally superior to aluminum. We treat it with SuperDyma®, a rugged, corrosion-resistant, scratch-resistant alloy coating designed especially for outdoor exposure. SuperDyma is so effective it’s used as standard corrosion protection throughout the automotive industry. Self-tapping screws eliminate the need for pilot holes, and the screws and bolts are standardized to minimize tool changes.
Integrated trim covers for form, function and a finishing touch
Front, top and side trim covers provide a finished appearance while decreasing wind drag and improving water channeling. The result is a streamlined system with clean aesthetics.
OnEnergy Systems (Includes SRS)
OnEnergy systems include the innovative racking system, sleek, high-performance solar modules, and the hardware required for a speedy installation. Components are delivered precut and pre-drilled, and the highly versatile racking system allows installation on nearly any roof, including asphalt shingle, concrete flat tile and curved Spanish tile. Custom-designed to fit and complement each roofline, the OnEnergy system is engineered to install securely without compromising the integrity of the roof. |

WATTSON - Solar Panel Tracking Hardware
The Wattsun azimuth tracker automatically tracks the sun by rotating the PV array about the pipe mast. Then it tilts for elevation position. The Dual-Axis Option enables it to capture virtually all the power the sun delivers.
Compared to passive, tilt and roll trackers, azimuth trackers provide greater stability for large arrays. The corners do not protrude down towards the ground or stick up in the air to catch the wind. The bottom edge of the array always remains parallel to the ground and requires less ground clearance than tilt & roll designs
Wattsun Solar Trackers are available in five models. Most small trackers can ship via UPS for added savings. Your selection of a specific Wattsun tracker depends on your application and PV array size. For physical size comparison, we have noted the typical number of 75 watt modules that can mount on each tracker.
This product is special order only. Please contact a DC Power Systems representative for details. Dealers must specify module type and quantity wanted. |
